I've just completed a Testube remix of the new Front Line Assembly track "Hostage". This is for a remix competition, with the winner to receive some awesome music production software from the likes of Korg, Camel Audio, and Platinum Loops. The contest ends on November 15th. I enjoyed working on my remix and I think it turned out pretty slick. I'm also humbled to have gotten the chance to remix a very influential post-industrial pioneer that I've been listening to since I was a teen. keep reading »
I recently ran across a new review from ReGen Magazine for my Treatments remix compilation. You can read it here. Overall, it was a fair assessment of the disc. I don't really understand how releasing these remixes makes me egotistical in any way, though. I did have permission from each of the acts, and I was only selling them at cost as free promotion for all the acts involved. keep reading »
Bit Riot Records has just released Torrent Vaccine's new Focus EP, featuring the Testube remix of "Exude" - which won second place in the Torrent Vaccine / Presonus remix contest last year. The EP also includes exclusive remixes from Synnack, Deconbrio, Mangadrive, Deadliner, DJ Moon, as well as an extended version of the title track "Focus". Check it out!
In my last post, I mentioned an eBay seller who was selling 10+ copies of of recent Testube remix compilation. I have been speaking with him about this. Apparently, he picked up this lot of discs as a "lost package" auction from some company called Cargo Largo. I never realized that UPS sells the packages that they lose. That's certainly not what they told me over the phone...but then they probably don't want to admit that they ever lose anything in the first place. keep reading »
