Minivan Mastering?

Filed Under:

Tomorrow, I am going to try out a little mastering experiment with the new album. Rather than transfer songs from the new Testube album to a CDr and test-listen to it in the car, only to then return and make adjustments in the studio, I'm going to try and do some tweaking while in the car itself. I'm going to setup my laptop workstation in our minivan and run the audio directly into the car stereo. What better way to simulate a car cabin listening environment?  keep reading »

Sneak Preview of new Testube Album

Filed Under:

I've just completed one of the most accessible tracks of the upcoming Testube Off Purpose album. The track is titled "Lost and Found" and features vocals and lyrics by Jonathan Chalker (LOWHERO.DLL). You can check it out here:

Let me know what you think! I had a great time working with Jonathan and his slick vocal style, and hope to collaborate with him some more in the near future.  keep reading »

The Sounds of a Dying Laptop

Filed Under:

I've been hard at work in the studio lately, attempting to put the final touches on some songs for the new Testube album titled Off Purpose. Jonathan Chalker (from the band LowHero.DLL) will be lending some of his uber-cool vocals to one of the tracks. Most of the others will be instrumental. I've actually been working on some of these tunes since 2007. I'm anxious to see them released, not only to experience the sense of closure that only a published full length CD can bring, but also so that I can get these working tracks off of my ailing laptop.  keep reading »

New release from Oral Silence features remix by Testube

Detail release

Out today on Mental Records is the new remix disc from the industrial band Oral Silence titled Detail. Kicking off the disc is an exclusive remix of the track "Bacterium" that I created a couple of months ago. This one caught me in a bit of a nostalgic mood, so the mix has some heavy old school EBM influences. Also included on the disc are remixes by Adapter, Synthetik Form, Ehron Von Allen, and others. Check it out!
