I'm putting the finishing touches on the artwork for the new Testube release titled Off Purpose. I've been very impressed with Chris over at Sire Press, as he is working with me on the details of this "boutique" CD-r release. I'm going to use one of their "arigato" eco-packs for the packaging, but we've been working out the details for something a little different. At first, I was planning on ordering special card stock and doing my own woodcut prints, but I haven't been able to produce a prototype that I was happy with. keep reading »
The audio mastering for the new Testube album Off Purpose is now complete! It's been a long, difficult process battling numerous hardware defects, but I'm quite pleased with the final outcome. I hope you all will be, too.

Just wanted to post an update on the new Testube album titled Off Purpose. I was hoping to have everything release-ready by the end of this month, and that may still happen, but things have gotten very busy with my day job, and I'm also committed to a local cause that is taking up more of my time than expected. Tomorrow, I am going to try out a little mastering experiment with the new album. Rather than transfer songs from the new Testube album to a CDr and test-listen to it in the car, only to then return and make adjustments in the studio, I'm going to try and do some tweaking while in the car itself. I'm going to setup my laptop workstation in our minivan and run the audio directly into the car stereo. What better way to simulate a car cabin listening environment? keep reading »
